As of December, the Saudi Ministry of Health issued a change to the definition of “immune” status norms for persons travelling to the Kingdom for trips, including Hajj and Umrah.
“Updating the definition of ‘Immune’ status criteria for those coming to the Kingdom for the purpose of visit, including Hajj and Umrah,” the Ministry of Health’s official Twitter account said, while the Public Health Authority (Weqaya) said, “Updating the definition of fully immunized for the purpose of coming to the Kingdom” as of December 2021.” Trending Now: For UAE citizens travelling to eight places, including India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Pakistan, and the Philippines, Covid travel requirements apply.
The Ministry of Health stated that two doses of Sinopharm Sinovac and Covaxin vaccines would be accepted beginning December 1, 2021, while two doses of the Sputnik vaccine will be accepted beginning January 1, 2022.
However, the Ministry stated that they must have a negative PCR test result 48 hours after arrival, as well as a three-day institutional quarantine. Watch More: Gulf Tech & News.
The health ministry further claimed that these new vaccinations are in addition to the already approved vaccines, which include two doses of “Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca” vaccine and one dose of “Johnson and Johnson” vaccine after 14 days have elapsed.
