Saudi: SR100K Fine, 6 Months Jail for Smuggling or Manufacturing Fireworks – Gulf Insider

The Public Prosecution has warned that it is prohibited to manufacture explosives and fireworks in Saudi Arabia, or to possess, export, import, sell, store, destroy, or even train in them, except with a permit from the Ministry of Interior.

According to Saudi Arabia’s Explosives and Fireworks Law, whoever attempts to smuggle fireworks into Saudi Arabia, manufacture them, or trade in them will be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months, and a fine not exceeding SR100,000, or one of these two penalties.

The Public Prosecution’s warning came due to the fact that fireworks pose a serious danger to the health of society and the environment. It has indicated that it is not permissible to use them except in the cases indicated by law.
