At King Khalid International Airport, the Riyadh Airports has been testing the (Smart Travel Journey) a Digital Path, which enables travelers to be identified by their digital faceprint rather than a boarding pass.

In partnership with the multinational corporation SITA, Riyadh Airports has carried out the Digital Path trial, a truly seamless journey for passengers, adding that this is seen as a key factor in transforming Riyadh Airport into a smart Airport to achieve customer satisfaction.

Smart path solution allows efficient biometric enrolment by just looking into the camera on the SITA FacePod, travelers may efficiently enroll their biometric data and your face will become your own boarding passes, It is seamlessly integrated with the SITA Flex Check-in platform, thanks to the SITA Smart Path.

In addition to quickening the procedure while maximizing security, it will cut the boarding time by at least 20% and enhance the passenger experience by giving them more time to enjoy the Airport facilities as they are travelling through the airport.

The Riyadh Airports in its official tweet said “In an important step to transform the Riyadh Airport into a smart airport in which we seek to reach customer satisfaction, Riyadh Airport succeeded in cooperation with the global company SITA in implementing the ‘smart travel journey’ experience in King Khalid International Airport to recognize the digital face print of passengers without the need of travel documents”.
