Oman: More Than 15 Expatriates Arrested for Violation of Labour Law – Gulf Insider

More than 15 expatriates have been arrested for violating Labour Law in the Wilayat of Seeb in Muscat Governorate.

Ministry of Labour stated that in order to follow up on the expat workforce and the extent of their commitment to the provisions of the Labour Law and in response to the circulating section regarding the random sale phenomenon by the expatriate workforce in the Wilayat of Seeb, the Ministry of Labour represented by the Directorate General of Labour Welfare, in cooperation with the Municipality of Seeb, carried out an inspection campaign.

20 workers were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labor Law. The Ministry added that work is underway to take legal measures against them. According to Muscat Municipality, crops, clothes and commodities displayed in unhealthy conditions that affect the general appearance were confiscated.
