Saudi Arabia is showcasing its technological advancements with the introduction of Sara, the country’s first AI robot capable of communicating in the local dialect and performing popular dances.
Sara has been greeting visitors at the Kingdom’s Digital Pavilion at the LEAP23 conference in Riyadh.

Sara’s built-in camera uses artificial intelligence to recognize when people are standing in front of the robot.
Once the camera detects a visitor, it begins a conversation by saying “Hello Sara”.
The robot is programmed with a pre-trained model that recognizes different dialects within the Kingdom and can understand and respond to questions in the form of text.
LEAP23 Conference
The LEAP23 conference, the second edition of a major technology event, is taking place from February 6 to February 9 in Riyadh.
The conference is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors and will feature 720 speakers from 50 countries, including representatives from companies such as Google, Snap, Aramco, and Zoom.
Oracle has already pledged a $1.5 billion investment into Saudi Arabia as part of the conference.
High-Profile Attendees
The conference is being organized by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in partnership with Tahaluf, a strategic joint venture between Informa PLC and the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming.
In addition to technology experts, the conference will also feature celebrity guests active in the tech industry, such as rapper Will.i.am and footballer Charles Puyol.
