Saudi Arabia summoned Sweden Ambassador in response to burning of Holy Qur’an

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Saudi Arabia summoned the Ambassador of Sweden to the Kingdom and informed her of the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of an extremist’s burning a copy of the Holy Qur’an in front of the Stockholm Central Mosque in Sweden after Eid al-Adha. The Ministry in its official statement stated that, “Further to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on 29th June, in which it expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation of an extremist burning of copy of the Holy Qur’an in front of the Stockholm Central Mosque in the Sweden after Eid Al-Adha. The Ministry summoned the Ambassador and informed her of the rejection of the disgraceful act”.


All Arab countries condemns the burning of the Holy Qur’an in Sweden, calling a flagrant provocation of the feelings of the Muslims :

The burning of a copy of the Holy Qur’an by an extremist in the Swedish capital was strongly condemned and denounced by the general secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. This despicable act is a flagrant insult to the sensibilities of Muslims around the world, and it shows contempt for all religious and moral values.

– The General Secretariat stated in a statement released today from its offices in Tunis that this heinous criminal act tries to incite religious conflict, sow discord among people, and foster extremism, bloodshed, and terrorism. – They also highlighted the significance of taking strong action to stop similar crimes from happening again and holding those responsible accountable. All the Arab nations also underlined the commitment of all nations in the world to stand firm against extremist behavior, hate speech, and incitement to violence, as well as to work to advance dialogue between various civilizations and cultures in a way that supports the security and harmony of people.
