Five-time prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was sworn in as the new prime minister of Sri Lanka on Thursday evening, after violent mobs ousted former premier Mahinda Rajapaksa, three days ago.

Wickremesinghe took oath before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President’s House.
