India confirms two instances of Omicron variant Covid-19.

So far, two Omicron variants have been found in India.

Both instances were discovered in the southern state of Karnataka, according to Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Union Health Ministry.

The two cases were confirmed by genome sequencing efforts of the INSACOG consortium of 37 laboratories created by the Ministry of Health, according to Balram Bhargava, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Passengers arriving from countries classified as “at risk” must undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival.

They’ll be treated according to clinical management procedure if they test positive for Covid-19. If they test negative, they will be placed on a 7-day home quarantine.
