Oman Warns Against the Usage of This Infant Formula – Gulf Insider

The Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Health has issued a circular stating to stop the usage of “Nestlé Good Start Soothe (infant formula) 942 g” due to possible contamination of Cronobacter, a bacteria which can cause serious infections and often lead to death, especially among young children.

This came through a publication of the Ministry in which it clarified that the product is a special milk formula powder for infants from birth and over, manufactured by the United States of America, with the following operating numbers:

The ministry indicated that the circular came based on what Canadian officials announced about the withdrawal of a Nestle brand formula by the company due to the possibility of contamination with Cronobacter, which can cause serious infections and often lead to death, especially among young children. There were no confirmed diseases related to the product so far.

The Ministry calls on all users of this formula to discontinue use as a precaution and would also like to point out that other products in the local markets of the Sultanate of Oman are not included in this alert.
