Ferrari Motorsport Festival in Riyadh
About the Event
The Ferrari Motorsport Festival in Riyadh began on Friday with a two-day event that provided fans with incredible displays of racing cars, professional Formula One drivers, and huge spectacles.
The Ferrari Motorsport Festival, which is returning to the Kingdom for the second time, serves as a send-off to Riyadh’s 10-day car show, which included more than 600 unique and rare automobiles in one location, giving it the title of the region’s largest car show.
Highlights of the Event
“This has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life,” said Abdulaziz Khashoggi, founder of Superior Automotive, an automotive lifestyle brand. “Saudi Arabia is exploding; the king and crown prince have put the country on the map in terms of racing and automotive events.”
The Ferrari Owners Club, founded by Jeddah-born Yassir Kamil Sindi, was one of the event’s highlights, with attendees invited to an exhibition of around 100 prancing horses. Onlookers shouted and whistled for more as the club’s drivers revved their engines and took laps on a floodlit circuit at the venue. “Every single Ferrari you can imagine is flying by on the track, as you can see and hear behind me, it’s a symphony, it’s an orchestra, it’s the most incredible thing ever,” Khashoggi stated.
Some extreme cars were on the schedule, such as the Ferrari 599 XX, FXX, and FXX K, which were homologated for track racing only and are not street legal.
Visitors at the event couldn’t get enough of the V12 engines thundering through the area.
Ferrari Fans excitements
“Watching the vehicles go around the circuit was one of my favorite things; it was gorgeous,” Tiezheng Bu, an aeroplane YouTuber, remarked. “The acoustics in here are extraordinary because it’s wide-open, and it was almost a blessed experience.”
He went on to say, “I even snapped a selfie with Mick Schumacher – this town is full of pleasant surprises.”
The arrival of Haas Formula One racer Mick Schumacher, son of great driver Michael Schumacher, who won five of his record seven titles with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004, stunned Formula One fans.
Ferrari had a display of a 2017 Formula One car at the event, which was piloted by famed professional Formula One drivers Sebastien Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, a legendary combo who helped Ferrari finish second in the constructor’s championship that year. The Ferrari SF70H was created to commemorate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary as an automobile company.
All of this is in addition to a large showroom with some of the most sought-after Ferraris on display, including the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Roma, F8 Spider, 812 GTS, and many other rare Ferraris that left visitors in awe of their beauty. Watch more: Gulf Tech & News.
The penultimate race of the 2021 season will be held in Jeddah from Dec. 3 to 5, with fans anxiously anticipating the conclusion of an epic battle to see who will capture the title: seven-time world champion Mercedes-AMG driver Lewis Hamilton or up-and-comer Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen.
“I can’t wait to see the Formula One cars drive on the corniche road along the Red Sea, where I used to drive before construction began – that’s something I’ve wanted to witness my whole life,” one fan remarked.
