Expat workers arrested in Saudi Arabia for tampering Fuel stations meter readings
Expat workers arrested for tampering with gas station meter readings, they will be sent to security authorities for deportation and will not be allowed to re-enter the Kingdom, said a joint statement of three government departments. Similar : Deported expat can return to Saudi Arabia only on these two visas
The Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Energy and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) inspected several fuel stations and spotted illegal practices at some stations after it reported to the Ministry of Commerce by few consumers.
– The inspection was conducted after the reports and videos posted on social media websites revealing certain workers tinkering gas pump meter readings.
– The last 10 reading of the gas pump meters can be retrieved for accounting purposes in case of any complaints or reports. In order to protect the interests of consumers, SASO’s National Metrology Program (TAQYEES) will look at codifying this feature in coordination with gas pump manufacturers.
– The government departments restated their commitment to protecting customers rights and responding to complaints and reports through the Commercial Violation Application and call at 1900 or at ministry’s website.
