Authorities have declared that e-scooters and any sort of bike may only be operated in Dubai after obtaining a driving license permission. The licenses for e-scooters and other types of bikes will be issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

These comments came after Dubai Crown Prince Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Executive Council, issued a resolution limiting the use of bicycles and e-scooters in the city.

Bicyclists under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older, according to the resolution. Riders under the age of 16 are not allowed to ride an e-scooter.
