Collecting Cash or donations in Hajj pilgrimage is a Crime – Public Prosecution
The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia warned that, it is not allowed to collect cash or any kind of donations at the holy sites of Makkah for any party by any means. Join Saudi Expatriates Whatsapp group
The Saudi Public Prosecution through its official Twitter said that, if these practices involve the use of any fraudulent ways to unlawfully seize the money of others, they are considered as major crimes, that requires arrest.
– Earlier, the Public Prosecution warned against taking advantage of Hajj pilgrimage to beg or let others to beg, directly or indirectly, in public places or private shops or through modern technology and communication or by any means whatsoever based on the anti-begging law.
– The authority stated that, whoever engages in begging, manages beggars, incite others or assist them in anyway, in any of that within an organized group that engages in beggary, shall be penalized with a jail term of up to one year and a fine of up to 100,000 riyals.
