Bahrain: Arab Woman Lands In Trouble For Lending CPR To Woman In Labour – Gulf Insider
An Arab woman who assisted another woman in labour by providing her Central Population Registry (CPR) card to an ambulance service is now facing trial in Bahrain for alleged misuse of the card.
The woman who provided the CPR card is 33 years old and married to a Bahraini man, while the woman who allegedly misused it is 31 years old and an Arab.
The prosecution alleges that the woman who provided the CPR card handed over her identity card without her husband’s knowledge to help the woman in labour pain complete the ambulance transfer to Salmaniya Medical Complex.
Both women are now facing charges, as the prosecution considers the case a misuse of the ID card. The alleged incident occurred on February 20, 2020, in Manama.
The prosecution alleges that the woman in labour pain maliciously used a valid identification card in the name of another Arab woman, who benefited from it without justification by presenting it to personnel employed by the Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The woman who assisted the woman in labour pain is now charged with complicity and assistance in misusing the valid identification card for unauthorised use and benefit.
