The Ministry said that the licenses were given to a number of companies from nations like the US and the UK. These changes were meant to improve the environment for investment and business in the Kingdom, make lawyers more efficient, and raise the status of the legal field.
– Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, Latham and Watkins LLP, and Clifford Chance LLP were the law companies that got licenses. The licenses are the first ones given to law companies from outside the Kingdom to work there since the Code of Law Practice’s licensing rules were changed by the Council of Ministers.
– In January of this year, the Ministry of Justice made it possible for foreign law companies to use Najiz.sa, its electronic platform for legal services, to apply for licenses to work in the Kingdom.
